Hurbert “Melvin” Washington 75, died on July 30, 2012 at The Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was born in October 8, 1936 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Fl. He was employed as a supervisor for a Housekeeping department. He served in the United States Army and attended Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Washington was preceded in death by father: Otis Washington, Mother: Alice Moore Washington

Survivors include: Wife: Barbara Washington of Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Son: Cyrus Thomas of Ft. Pierce, Fl.

Daughters: Yolanda Denise Bacon of Stone Mountain, Ga. and Iris Charmain Thomas of Stockbridge, Ga.

Brother: Otis Washington of Ft. Pierce, Fl.

Sisters: Fannie Mae Anderson of Ft. Pierce, Florida. Marie Tillman Washington of Ft. Pierce, Fl. and Florence Sams of Ft. Pierce, Florida

Grandchildren-7

Services: Visitation will be 3pm-7pm, Friday, August 10, 2012 and 9am-12pm, Saturday, August 11,2012 at Sarah’s Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be conducted, Saturday, August 11, 2012, 2:30pm at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. A burial will be in South Florida VA National Cemetery on Monday, August 13, 2012 in Lake Worth, Florida.
