Ossie Wright, Jr “ Music Man” 72, died on April 21, 2013 at University of Miami Hospital in Miami, Florida.

He was born on March 9, 1941 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida. He was an educator and a musician. After 35 years of service in Indian River County he retired from the school system. He was well-known around the Treasure Coast as well as abroad for his musical talent on the piano, organ and keyboards. He managed the Groove-Division Band, a versatile group of musicians. Ossie was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for 32 years, the Minister of Music and the musician for the youth choir of New Testament Baptist Church. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Barbara of Ft. Pierce, Fl; Sons, Ossie Wright III (Tennessee), Paul (Claudine) Wright of Pt. St. Lucie, Antonio Wright, and Michael Wright of Ft. Pierce; Daughter, Lisa (Glenn) Jones-Johnson of Orlando; Granddaughters, Ariana Wright of Alabama, Taje’ Wright, Kiana Wright, Rushanna Rayson, Ashley Jones, Tyronnya Perry of Orlando, Tralisia Curry of Vero Beach; Great-Grands,  Artravius Thompson and Jonathan Jones of Vero Beach; Brothers,  Julius Wright, Bishop Ronald E. (Juanita) Wright, Sr.; Sisters,  Dr. Frances Wright-Harris and Dr. Mary (Mark) Dixon, and a host of other loving cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church families.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elder Ossie Wright, Sr., mother-Julia Wright, brother-Jerry Wright, and a son-Richard Edwards.

Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013, 3pm-5pm with a Wake Service conducted at 5pm-6pm and following at 6pm-7pm the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity will have a special service. This will all take place at his church Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, Florida. A Celebration of Life will be conducted April 27, 2013, 11am, St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
A burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
